Hello World
So tell me, what do you crazy kidz do for fun these day?
I'm trying to come up with exciting things to do for two or more people other than going to the pub. This is the capital city! There has got to be more do to in the evenings other than the same old cinema/food/pub/gig thing.
Anyone got ideas? |

A guy I work with (quite possibly the soundest man in the universe) is running a bike maintenance course in April. Anyone who cycles should definitely check it out. Having a basic idea of how to fix your bike can help prevent bike disasters but it's mostly just fun being able to fix mechanical things yourself. A first for me. :)
Damien Ó Tuama, Cycling Advocate / Bicycle Planner, will run an afternoon workshop in bike maintenance at the Cultivate centre.
Date: Saturday 21st April 2007 Time: 2pm to 5.30pm Location: Courtyard (or Shop if wet weather)
Cost: 15euro 12 for members/ and an option to join The Dublin Cycling Campaign for half price. Participants should wear old clothes, bring your bike, tools & pump if you have them - but not essential.
Introduction:
Purchasing the right bike Cycling Safety Bike accessories/ essential kit Dublin Cycling Campaign – Campaigning to Make Dublin a More Bicycle Friendly City
Practical Session:
Basic tools Basic Ongoing Maintenance Mending a puncture Adjusting brakes Fixing gears
Max 15 people
Book through http://www.sustainable.ie/us/contact.htm (not through Damien) or by emailing philippa@cultivate.ie

So along with the rest of the universe, I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean at the weekend. Very disappointing.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce Tamago Aisu, or Egg-shaped Ice Cream.

Genius! It's basically a balloon filled with chocolate ice cream.

Hmm, that looks a bit dodgy. How are you supposed to get the ice cream out? Wait, handy instructions are on the back.

Um..now what?

Suck it like you did yo momma! |

I bought a PSP for my future flatmate five days ago. (No study for me next year!) I have thus far resisted opening it. I don't think this period of abstinence is going to last beyond tonight.
In other news, four books I heartily recommend:
* The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay (Michael Chabon) * A Scanner Darkly (Philip K. Dick) * Enduring Love (Ian McEwan) * Middlesex (Jeffrey Eugenides) |

Rare KitKat alert!

Bought for me by my friend Amye in Nagoya. Not available in Osaka! Wow. Nagoya is famous for producing apples and so they have their very own KitKat flavour. |

If I were to buy a psp for someone, and then bring it home in July... it would work on games bought in Europe, right?
On a related note, only 50 working days left in japan! If anyone wants anything brought home, get your orders in now.
See all y'all in July! :) |
